Grammy Award-winning artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burnaboy, sparked laughter as he entertained viewers by showcasing his unapologetic preference for Nigerian cuisine over foreign delicacies during a recent food tasting interview with LADbible.
In a delightful twist, Burna Boy, known for hits like “City Boys,” faced a culinary choice between Nigerian and British dishes. When presented with Jollof rice and cauliflower cheese in the initial round, Burna Boy unhesitatingly rejected the latter, asserting his distaste for its flavor without even giving it a try, emphasizing that it didn’t align with his palate.
In the subsequent round, where Pot noodles and eba with egusi soup were on the menu, Burna Boy sampled the pot noodles but emphasized the need for a special sauce to elevate its taste to complement the Jollof Rice. Expressing his fondness for Jollof as his favorite dish, Burna Boy took a bold step by unwrapping the Eba, grabbing a spoon, and diving into the egusi soup, clearly savoring the authentic flavors.
As the interview progressed, Burna Boy, having not eaten all day, insisted on not having the delectable Nigerian meal taken away. In a humorous twist, after going through additional rounds of tasting, Burna Boy, before the show’s conclusion, requested the return of the Eba and Egusi soup, solidifying his stance that Nigerian cuisine reigns supreme. This playful episode showcased Burna Boy’s unapologetic love for his roots and culinary preferences.
