Nigerian Afrobeats Star, Burna Boy, Has Finally Opened Up “Why I Am Hated In The Music Industry”

Nigerian Afrobeats luminary Burna Boy has shed light on the animosity directed towards him within the music industry, attributing the disdain to his perceived lack of “superiors” among his peers. The ‘City Boys’ artist took to his X handle on a Saturday to articulate this sentiment, stating, “Hated by my inferiors for having no superiors,” accompanied by a photo of himself.

This revelation is not the first instance of Burna Boy expressing his belief in being a target of antipathy. The singer has previously asserted that he faces animosity from fellow Nigerians. In the track ‘Thank You,’ featured in his recent album, “I Told Them,” Burna Boy hinted at the lack of appreciation he feels from his compatriots, despite consistently bringing pride to the nation “every chance I get.”

Adding depth to his frustration, Burna Boy lamented that, rather than acknowledging his significant musical contributions to the nation, there are rumors circulating that his mother had been one of the dancers for the late Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti. Furthermore, he pointed out that unfounded speculations about his personal life, such as insinuations of impotency being the reason behind his absence of a baby mama, only contribute to the challenges he faces in gaining the recognition he believes he deserves.
