Singer, Asake Reveals How He Begged Olamide For Two Years Before He Agreed To Sign Him

Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, recently disclosed the journey to his signing with the ace rapper and YBNL Nation CEO, Olamide. Asake revealed that he had been persistently pleading with Olamide for about two years before the rapper finally agreed to sign him to the renowned record label.

The ‘Mr Money’ crooner shared that the turning point came when Olamide invited him to his house and posed the question of joining YBNL. Although Olamide advised Asake to consult with a lawyer and scrutinize the contract, Asake, overwhelmed with excitement, signed the deal immediately.

In an interview with Hip TV, Asake expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, recalling the surreal moment when Olamide, someone he admired and respected, asked him to join YBNL. Asake emphasized his love for

the YBNL family and his eagerness to be a part of it.

He narrated, “Before he [Olamide] signed me, I’ve been begging Baddo [Olamide] since 2020 to sign me. One day, I got to his house, then he asked me… This part burst my head. This is how he signed me. He said, ‘How are you, Asake?’ I said I’m fine. And he asked me, ‘Would you like to join YBNL?’”

The excitement and admiration for Olamide were palpable in Asake’s recounting of the moment. His swift response to Olamide’s offer without consulting a lawyer showcases the genuine passion and connection he had for the YBNL family. Asake officially signed with YBNL Nation in February 2022 and swiftly released his debut extended play, ‘Ololade,’ which featured his breakout hit ‘Omo Ope’ with Olamide and the single ‘Sungba.’
