Actor Uzor Arukwe Reacts After being called out by a Fan for having a fake Igbo accent in the film “A Tribe Called Judah”.

When an Igbo critic took issue with Uzor Arukwe for adopting what she deemed a contrived Igbo accent in the widely circulated film “A Tribe Called Judah,” the actor responded with a touch of humor.

In the wake of receiving acclaim for his portrayal in the movie, a devoted Igbo fan voiced her discontent, expressing that Arukwe’s “igbotic” accent came across as excessively artificial and off-putting. She, as an Igbo girl, asserted that his rendition did not align with the authentic sound of their brothers, and she felt he had taken it too far.

In a lighthearted and tongue-in-cheek manner, Uzor Arukwe addressed the criticism by playfully adopting a phony Igbotic accent in his response. He acknowledged the critique with a touch of self-mockery, apologizing for unintentionally going overboard. In his humorous reply, he urged the disgruntled fan not to harbor any ill feelings, charmingly stating, “I aporogize. I didn’t mean to overdo it. Nwanne Biko don’t be angly.” This playful response not only showcases Arukwe’s ability to take criticism in good spirits but also adds a dash of levity to the dialogue surrounding his performance in the film.
